As a follow up to a previous post concerning possible conflicts of "Call of Duty 2" and DirectX 9, the problem might also be caused by the resource demand of the game when played at its highest settings. Apparently currently available hardware in the general market is not able to run this program at its highest settings. Until hardware is available (and affordable to the normal gamer), it is necessary to adjust the settings until the game will run satisfactorily.
