Thanks to everybody for his or her input. I finally solved the problem last night by restoring the default configuration in the BIOS. That did the trick. Now powerdown occurs automatically. -----Original Message----- From: PCBUILD - Personal Computer Hardware discussion List [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of [log in to unmask] Sent: Saturday, December 31, 2005 1:59 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] Computer wont shut off In a message dated 12/30/05 9:26:50 PM Eastern Standard Time, [log in to unmask] writes: > Thanks for your input. You should be able to find them surrounding the integral fan of the power supply. Before you open the case make sure you turn off the power strip and ground yourself by touching the power supply frame. There will be a bunch of connectors coming out of the power supply with the widest/biggest being the one that plugs into the motherboard. The rest will probably not all be used, I recommend using a small rubberband or twist tie to keep the empties together and out of harms way. Each of your drives (hard or optical) will have a power connector, possibly a fan or two, maybe a video card, just trace each line and reconnect with connectors from the new power supply.
