Since the Big Foot does not have a jumper setting for "slave" you will have
to use "cable select" on both drives. If Big Foot does not have a jumper
setting for "cable select", it could be that it will only work as a master.
In that case install it on the IDE secondary channel as a master with the
other drive, if any, on that channel set as slave.

The C: drive on my IBM Aptiva with Windows 98 SE was a Quantum Big Foot.
I installed a Seagate Barracuda 100 GB Ultra AT/100 according to
instructions,
intending to make the new Barracuda C: (master) and the old Big Foot D:
(slave). I set the jumpers.(Big Foot has
no jumper for slave).
The installation went well. Everything runs fine from the new disk.
However, it does not recognize the slave,
i.e. the old Big Foot. I replaced the Big Foot with another drive, as slave
and it worked fine. I tried it
with another HD and it worked. I reinstalled the Big Foot and it still does
not work.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
