Peter, have a look here: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ I am
currently working on gettting all the plugins that I want installed. I
am using a R/W CD to test each stage. The basic PE disc will give you
an idea of what it can do. Only thing besides the live linux CDs that
I've found to be able to look at NTFS. The PE boot disc gives you the
ability to make changes, also. I think it also has a Ghost plugin
plus DriveImage and Acronis.

Subject: XP backup disk

Is it possible to create a bootable XP CD that will allow me to run XP
backup without first installing XP onto the hard drive? I have an XP
backup
of a system that I want to install on a new computer. I have used
Norton
Ghost to transfer networked computers, and perhaps that may be an
easier way
to go, but I was just wondering about the XP backup anyway in case a
system
ever needed to be restored from a crash. In the past, I have always
ended up
installing a minimal XP on the new hard disk before doing the restore.
I
would like to avoid that step if possible.

Thank you for any pointers.

Peter
