Mr Owens:

I beg to differ with you, on your assumption that my comments to Pa M'bai article were unfair.  My  reasons for disagreeing with you on this matter were build upon these few lines from the point article, which you use to buttress your point, among other things.

But as I had stated in my previuos response to Pa M'bai's article, I am not here to defend Yaya, nor do I speak for him.  My worries were all raised at the way we do the reportings, which to me are one-sided and not objective.  Read this portion of the Point report that you have culled.

"While you may not be aware of it, there are certain so-called “big men” and “big women” who use their positions and perceived proximity to you to exploit the gullibility of these innocent people by mobilizing them against their own freewill to come and work for you. They give you the impression that those people volunteered to work for you when it is not always the case. Instead most of those people had to be compelled by circumstances to participate, either to protect their jobs, like the lady mentioned above, or they have other interests to protect".

How could we  be pointing blaming fingers at  one direction.  Does it ever occur to any of us that we are sometimes part of the problem.  The people that worked at the farms against their so called will, or the "big dudes" in the administration that volunteer government employees to Yaya are all part of this mess and matter of fact encouraging the ordeal.  You and I both know this.  The report stated that these "big men or women" give Yaya the impression that these folks are voluntarily working for him.  One thing I know I would do if I was in this predicament was to refuse.  Keeping quiet, as these folks are doing, I do not think, will help.  The more we stay quiet, the more hypocritical we become.

Lamin
