<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> we just saw a friend whose baby is the same age as ours, 4 months. her doctor says she needs to give her baby gluten containing foods now, because the reason so many kids are getting dx'd with Celiac and other gluten sensitivities is because they're not getting gluten until they're older. Now she's giving a 4.5 mo old barley cereal and oatmeal!!! Now, my doctor says that because I'm a celiac, we should wait until he's a year to let him have gluten. Maybe to keep the chance of a reaction low until they're older and stronger, or maybe because they're less likely to be allergic. They say you aren't supposed to give them peanuts for the same reason. Is it possible that this could cause more allergies??? It seems to be the opposite of what I'm hearing everywhere else. Has anyone heard this theory? joanna _________________________________________________________________ On the road to retirement?
