Well, this probably means that Merck will stop selling it in the US - that's not to say they won't manufacture and sell it elsewhere - it depends on the liablity laws of a particular country and how much of their consumer base was in the US. On a small, related note, I read yesterday that acetaminophen as well as naproxyn and ibuprofen doubles the risk of hypertension in women: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8961817/ It seems that aspirin doesn't have that affect but I can't take a large enough dosage to help my arthritis pain. *sigh* And yes, I do have hypertension which is controlled with medication but of course I don't want to elevate it any more that I can help. It works like a dream for me (so did Vioxx - switched during the furor, excruiating pain for the week I couldn't get to doctor to change over to Celebrex and had stopped taking Vioxx, took Celebrex and pain WENT. ) I don't care if I grow a second head or if my innards liquify (note. exaggerating for effect, here.), I ain't stopping it. <grumble> Rayna Meir Weiss wrote: > BREAKING NEWS Jury finds Vioxx maker Merck negligent, awards $229 million in >damages.
