<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I received two emails from people who have shipped Bards Tale beer without refrigeration and had no problem. Then I called the company. It turns out that the issue is foaming. If the beer isn't refrigerated, it foams and you lose most of the beer. The taste isn't damaged; you just don't have any beer, all you get is foam. So, if they have it in your town, tell your stores to put it in the 'frig otherwise you're going to get rooked. As for having it shipped, the woman at Bards Tale said their rule of thumb is: If you live close enough that the beer can be shipped in 1 or 2 days then you'll be OK. But don't ship it across the country because there won't be much beer left in the bottles when it gets there. Also, if you're having it shipped, be mindful of the weather. If it's cool outside, you will end up with more beer and less foam. I also received a number of emails from people saying things like "you can buy Bards Tale Beer in North Carolina" for which I thank you, but that wasn't really my question. On the subject of Ramapo Valley, I received a number of emails giving me their website, which I already had. My question was: It seems that Ramapo Valley Brewery is either out of business or they're not shipping beer anymore. Does anyone know any differently? No one who wrote had any information on that. Their old website had a link where you could buy beer and have it shipped. Their new website doesn't have that anymore. Also, there is a phone number at their website, but when you call it, you get a perfunctory message saying "Leave a message and someone will call you back."
