<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> What is the best way to ask companies which of their products are gluten free? I am new at gf and need your advice. Thusfar I have contacted 3 companies which I am interested in buying from. Each time it has been quickly obvious that I was dealing with someone who didn't understand the extent of the issue & thought I would be satisfied with a quick, verbal answer. My response was to explain that wheat, barley & rye are all problematic. Further I explained that oats can be cross-contaminated and that actually a product can have a cross-contamination issue when there are no gluten grains listed on the ingredients but if something else has occurred in processing such as the conveyor belt being dusted with wheat flour. That is about the extent of my knowledge & what I have said so far. I would like to know from you what is the best information I can give these companies when I ask them about their product lines so that I have a better chance of getting accurate feedback. In each case I have ask them for their response in writing: a brochure, a letter or even just an email. I will summarize for anyone else who wants to go gf product hunting! :) * Visit the Celiac Web Page at www.enabling.org/ia/celiac/index.html *
