Good morning, I have a Conexant HCF V90 56K RTAD Speakerphone PCI Modem in my computer, a Dell Dimension L800r with 512 megs of ram, running at 800 MHz. My operating system is WinME. I have never been able to connect to my ISP at any speed greater than 28.8. In fact, I cannot hear on the speaker that the modem is even attempting to negotiate a connection higher than 28.8. Can I do anything that will increase the speed of the connection? The modem is on COM4. I have the maximum speed set at 115200, 8-N-1. The driver is comm.drv. When I run the diagnostics I get: Command Response ATI1 265 ATI2 OK ATI3 2.1.2.164.013.025 ATI4 Conexant HCF V.90 56K RTAD Speakerphone PCI Modem ATI5 181 ATI6 DP Rev BA V90 SPX RAM Ver 05 V90 CTL RAM Ver 05 K56FLEX SPX RAM Ver 47 K56FLEX CTL RAM Ver 47 ATI7 255 AT+FCLASS=? 0.1.1.0.8.80 Port COM4 Interrupt 9 Address DFF0 UART NS 16550AN Highest Speed: 115K Baud Identifier: CXT\VEN_14F1&DEV_1036&SUBSYS_020913E I don't know what all of that means but it might help.
