The space listed under "Add/Remove Programs" is only the space used by files (mostly binary code such as .EXE and .DLL files) that are part of the various programs. There are plenty of other files on your hard drive. There's Windows itself and the various small utilities that come with it. There are programs that don't add themselves to the Add/Remove Programs list. There are data files, pictures and documents and spreadsheets and so on, which although used with one or more programs are not considered part of any program, And somewhere on the drive is your "temp" folder, which contains various ephemeral files that almost certainly aren't needed any more. Some of them get created as by-products of the installation process. I've seen machines where the "temp" folder had reached over 5 GB in size, and it wouldn't surprise me if yours is even a little bigger. Depending on how your machine was set up, it could be C:\TEMP or C:\WINDOWS\TEMP . Whichever it is, you can get rid of everything in it that's more than a day old.
