I'm running XP Home SP1 on a PIII 1GHz machine. Everything has been working well for years until I tried to get into safe mode. I do have a 3rd party image/partition maker from Terabyte installed. Normally the boot process goes into this mode and then continues on with the boot process. I have my boot.ini configured for 3 choices: a normal boot, a safe mode boot and a Recovery Console boot. Here is the boot.ini: [boot loader] timeout = 7 default = multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS = "Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS = "Safe Mode" /fastdetect /safeboot:minimal /sos /bootlog C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons Options 1 & 3 work fine but when I select 2 (Safe Mode) I get a screenful of drivers loading, them a message that says Windows is booting into safe mode with minimal services. Then the screen freezes. Have I made an error in that command line?
