Ok, I'll correct myself.  There are many kinds of lectins which potentially negatively affect many different parts of the body.  Gluten is a particular kind of lectin and, to me, the most offending.  Fascinating and ironic that the lectins in kidney beans actually mimic parts of the human kidney.
