<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> First let me state that I am not a scientist or a doctor (nor do I play one on TV). But this issue about oats being okay one minute and not the next is troublesome. Several years ago when there were only a very few SMALL studies indicating that oats were OK for Celiacs, many said that the tests could not be trusted because they tested too small a sample. Fine. Then, if I recall correctly, the studies started using larger test groups. Conclusion: Oats are probably OK for Celiacs. Now comes a study of NINE people. Really folks, are we to drop our bowls of McAnns oats just because four showed a potential problem??!! Please, no flames. My 7-y-o son is our Celiac and I don't feed him oats yet. I just question how quickly we jump on non-evidence as proof of something that may not be. Oats will remain a personal decision for us all.
