Present at the conference will be Austin Mayor Will Wynn, AIR-Austin 2004 Chairman Alex Cavalli, Director of the University of Texas IC2 Institute, AIR-Austin 2003 Chairman Bill Morrow, CEO of Grande Communications, Knowbility's Executive Director, Sharron Rush plus representatives of SBC, IBM, Grande Communications and Primus Networks. AIR-Austin is an accessible web design competition that matches teams of professional web designers and developers with area non-profit organizations in need of web sites. The developers receive training in accessible web development techniques and the non-profit organizations receive professionally designed accessible web sites. There will be demonstrations of assistive technologies, as well as convergent technologies that benefit from the same design techniques that make web sites accessible to screen readers and other assistive technologies. The press conference is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. There is free parking available in the visitors parking garage for the first hour.
