This is a Dell Dimension 4100, Windows ME, and a Lucent Win Modem. As the modem disconnects from the phone line, the computer freezes about 1/2 the time. Running the Modem Test says everything is OK. Would replacing the modem have a reasonably good chance of correcting the problem? (I'm a computer dummy.) Thanks!
