The WJA is now requesting for DR Carrol's photograph and a brief biography, which they would happily use to announce his full membership, in the next edition of the widely read WJA bi-monthly Newsletter called "The World Jurist", which indeed has a very wide international circulation, thus helping in no small measure, to bring more international recognition both for DR Carrol and this small republic of ours. DR Carrol was also awarded a WJA Membership Certificate, which has been duly signed by the president and the executive vice president of the WJA, which entitles him to all the rights and privileges of the WJA. DR Carrol said that he has indeed passed the stringent litmus test for full WJA membership and the he thank God for his multifarious blessings. Before DR Carrol received Ms Henneberry's offer of membership letter, his elaborate and highly impressive Law CV., was thoroughly assessed and scrutinized by the competent WJA authorities. DR. Carrol is now writing his very interesting biography, for the WJA. Publication in "The World Jurist". DR Henry DR Carrol has made legal history by becoming the first Gambian Jurist to be offered membership by the prestigious World Jurist Association (WJA). Henry Carrol who studied for his first law Degree (i.e. LLB HONS), at Buckland University College, in the World acclaimed academic City of Oxford in the 1990's as a self-sponsored Undergraduate Law Student, is not a pathfinder in an academic jungle. On the contrary, he is a lawyer/Jurist with a sound legal pedigree. He is a grand nephew, of the late Lawyer Wilfred Davidson Carrol, BA, B.C.L., M.A., B.L., a fellow of Merton College of Oxford University and a member of the legislative Council during the Colonial era (the equivalent of today's National Assembly) after whom Picton Street in the capital city of Banjul, was renamed by the Banjul City Council in July 1998, as WILFRED DAVIDSON CARROL STREET. Among other things, DR Carrol is the Environmental Legal Adviser of the National Environment Agency (NEA). His Master of Laws (LLM) degree is in Environmental law management. He is also a senior law lecturer, at the Gambia Technical Training Institute (G.T.T.I), which is one of the three academic centres, of The University of The Gambia for ten years, from 1994 to date. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Make allAfrica.com your home page <http://allafrica.com/browser_sethome.html> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Top <http://allafrica.com/stories/200402100468.html#top> | Site Français <http://fr.allafrica.com/stories/200402100468.html> | Site Guide <http://allafrica.com/howto.html> | Who We Are <http://allafrica.com/whoweare.html> | Advertising <javascript:void 0> | Search <http://allafrica.com/search.html> | Subscribe <http://allafrica.com/support.html> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Copyright <http://allafrica.com/copyright.html> © 2004 The Independent.
