The long description of illness is very disturbing. What kind of tests have been done along the way to determine what you need? Do they only test TSH? It sounds like for awhile they only tested you once per year despite the fact that your medication had to be changed. This seems inappropriate. Usually, retesting is done after about 6-8 weeks. If you are only having TSH tests, then you are likely underdosed on either T3 or T4 or both. Doctors often assume that everyone given appropriate amount of T4 drugs (thyroxine) will be able to convert the right amount into T3. This is simply not true and especially not true while anyone is on Amiodarone. I suspect that you have needed some T3 for a long time. Can you possibly get a free T3 level tested? You should not be this sick. Sounds like severe hypothyroidism and probably adrenal insufficiency. Try to find a better doctor. Where in the world are you-general location? Maybe someone can suggest a doctor.
