Friday last week, I ran through exactly the same thing as Crissy had experienced. I went through Network Connections which only showed, 'Local Area Network.' Dial-up Connection was not and is not on the list. Prior to this problem, I have downloaded XP's necessary & critical updates. In desperation, I went through the other route using Control Panel's 'Internet Option' icon. Again, I checked Connections and went through the Set-up... process to re-establish a dial up connection. I filled out the "New Connection Wizard" and 4 pages down where you are given 3 choices, I clicked the radio button to "Set up My Connection Manually." Again, the only choice available was 'Local Area Network.' I am wondering if this is a bug on the System. Anyone else experienced this problem? I have a dial up connection and when I installed the upgrade all it offered was a lan connection. I even tried the connection set up wizard. But it wouldn't let me. So I had to unistall it. I hope someone can help.. > > Crissy > "Hold No Punches.." Rode brings you great shareware/freeware programs with his honest opinions in this weekly column. http://freepctech.com/rode
