An hour to run defrag? Ouch. Windows 98 has a horrible defrag utility anyway. Here's a better, free one (Diskeeper Lite), that will speed up the defrag. http://www.grassheap.com/software.php?ID=4103 Then maybe run scandisk after that? May speed that up, too. On scandisk- in 98 I just use ctrl/alt/del to close all except systray & explorer & run it from there.
