Featuring Papa Kobina Ntsefo Brewoo a.k.a "Kobby" in his first theatrical appearance; | |||
Playwright and activist Lorraine Hansberry's last work is thrillingly brought to life under the direction of Visiting Professor Tim Bond. The play explores the shifting dynamics of resistance and assimilation under African colonialism, following a group of journalists, colonizers, missionaries, servants, immigrants, and native sons struggling to survive the violent forces of colonization. This beautifully rendered production draws on a mosaic of styles and art forms, including African dance and drumming, to tap into the core issues of loss and identity that Hansberry so deftly explores in the play. November 7–9, 13–16, 20–22, 7:30 p.m. $16 General Public For tickets call 608-262-1500.
