Anne, use System File Checker.

Go to Start > Run > type SFC and hit enter.

Watch where the checkmarks are - you want to leave everything as-is except
for CTL3D32.DLL (unless you wish to change something else).

See if there is another version of CTL3D32.DLL. Generally (but not always),
the version of any file with the most recent date or the highest version
number is the one to keep.
