Did you load WIN98se or was it pre-loaded? Sounds like it needs to be reloaded again. It should not stop in the dos startup mode. If you answer these, then I will know what to tell you next. When starting Windows, the screen stops at the page where you have the option to load 1 for Normal, 3 for safe etc. I just choose normal and it starts up ok then.
