<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> my question was: I have been on the gluten free diet for over two years now, I am seeing my doctor on Friday, I wanted to ask him to check out my blood to see if I am doing a good job of keeping gluten out of my system. What are the blood tests that can tell you if you are ingesting hidden gluten? Thanks. Pat Virginia I do have symptoms, however I am very careful, and I dont eat out. I have a lot going on with my health, maybe it isnt all gluten, just wanted to check. Here is the information I have received so far: Thanks for the replies, I will send more as I receive them. ~~~~~~~~ Just went through the same thing (gluten free since 2/02). I asked her to order an anti-gliadin IGA and anti-gliadin IGG, as well as an anti tissue transglutaminase. From what I understand, the preferred test for monitoring gluten free status is the last (anti-ttg). I was happy that all of my antibodies were negative. It makes all the extra effort worth it, no less the importance of feeling better. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Your dr should know -- they call it a titer, which you probably already know. ~~~~~~~~~~ The best test right now is the tTg test. The standard for the tTg is 0-19 meaning that within those numbers shows a negative celiac test or a good adherance to the gf diet. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Visit the Celiac Web Page at www.enabling.org/ia/celiac/index.html *
