<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> found some info quite a while back on the differences between milk allergy and milk intolerance, that i thought might be helpful, and maybe even spark some interesting conversation Casein - this is the protein that people are *allergic* to that is found in milk. Lactose - this is the sugar that people are intolerant of that is found in milk. a food intolerance (this should all sound familiar to everyone on this list) is usually symptomed with gas, bloating, discomfort or pain in the abdominal area. headaches are also common, as is dizziness, nausea, light-headedness and muscle aches and pains. a food allergy is witnessed often by visible rash/reaction on the skin. it is often accompanied by shortness of breath and dizziness, vomiting, itchy lips/mouth. i've heard that temporary food intolerances are often seen with Celiacs that have not yet gone on a gf diet. (dairy, soy, etc) i have heard that these commonly depart after a gf diet has been followed for a time. i suspect this might be because the small intestine is damaged so severely that it is unable to absorb/digest these other foods. food intolerances are the inability to digest a certain substance found in food. danny _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8.
