First, on my version of Word, I need to type --- on a line by itself to have the line break appear. This feature is controlled by the AutoText feature. Check Tools/AutoText options to see if they are enabled on the computers that don't do the replacement. Peter ----------------------------------------------- The NoSpin Group [log in to unmask] -----Original Message----- When typing text, one can type three hyphens (---) at the end of a line and Word 2000 will automatically insert a bottom border. We do it at school, but some computers won't do it (including mine at home). I've searched Word and used the "Help", but can't find anything that "turns it on." Does anyone know how to get it to do it? Byron Wolter The NOSPIN Group is now offering Free PC Tech support at our newest website: http://freepctech.com
