Help! After 4 years, when I try to open Word (in MS Office 2000 Small
Business) I get a rude sound, plus window: "This program has performed an
illegal operation and will be shut down." Details: "WINWORD caused an
invalid page fault in module WINWORD. EXE at (015f:3010bf99)" The
characters in parentheses are different every time I get this window, as are
the strings of characters that follow under "Registers" and "Bytes at
CS:EIP"

When I go to "My Documents", I am able to open a Word document, but then,
when I click "New" at "Find" to try to get a template for a new document, I
get that same lousy window with the big, red X.

I went online to MS Knowledge Base Article 305166 which seemed to be the
answer. As directed, I changed the names of THREE "Normal.dot" files to
"Normal.old", as instructed. NO help! Same rude noise, same lousy window
pops up when I try to launch Word! I'm running win98 on a Dell, 450 mhz,
8gb, recently defragged, scanned, waxed and polished. HELP!!
