Pete, OK, had me guessing for a minute trying to figure out what a "PIV" is (brain gap). A socket 478 Pentium IV will fit in the socket, no problem. You will need to buy an appropriate heat sink and fan. You will also need to check the motherboard's manual to see if it will auto detect the CPU or will you need to manually adjust jumpers and BIOS settings.
