Your point is a valid one.  Many have been troubled by the precedence-
setting Accord which seems to reward people who take up arms against the
Gbagbo regime. I have similar apprehensions as you do.  Perhaps, the nine
of the ten signatories, representing ALL the major political parties of
Cote d'Ivoire, including the ruling FPI, should be asked why they signed
off on the Linas-Marcoussis Accord with all its provisions.  I certainly
do not have an answer to the question.  Some provisions of the Accord have
far-reaching implications in our sub-region and it is something worth
considering in implementing the provisions of the Accord, assuming Gbagbo
carries out his Paris promise to do so.
