Malanding, Your point is a valid one. Many have been troubled by the precedence- setting Accord which seems to reward people who take up arms against the Gbagbo regime. I have similar apprehensions as you do. Perhaps, the nine of the ten signatories, representing ALL the major political parties of Cote d'Ivoire, including the ruling FPI, should be asked why they signed off on the Linas-Marcoussis Accord with all its provisions. I certainly do not have an answer to the question. Some provisions of the Accord have far-reaching implications in our sub-region and it is something worth considering in implementing the provisions of the Accord, assuming Gbagbo carries out his Paris promise to do so. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
