<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Perhaps lost in all the replies that Gina so kindly posted about Sweet Baby Ray's are two things -- Sweet Baby Rays is definitely GF (even the distilled vinegar is from corn, NOT wheat). If you are reacting to SBR (as she is and others have), it's almost certainly because of the corn or acidity or whatever. The second is, no matter how you feel about the distilled vinegar question, which I will not argue one way or the other, virtually ALL distilled vinegar is made from corn or wood, NOT from wheat. If you are avoiding distilled vinegar just because you fear gluten in it, you are missing a lot of things you could be eating. Call the manufacturer and ask them the source of the vinegar. Just so it's clear -- I do not doubt that some people have trouble with vinegar, and it's obvious those people should avoid it. But avoiding all distilled vinegar because of a fear of gluten is simply not necessary. cheers and good eating richard PS -- One person mentioned apple cider flavored vinegar. Yes, some do add flavor in and it always says "flavored." Avoid them. Heinz even tells people to avoid their apple cider "flavored" vinegar, although their apple cider vinegar is fine. * Please remember some posters may be WHEAT-FREE, but not GLUTEN-FREE *
