I call it the new and improved Jim Crow laws
not only Gambian students are victims but many other hard working Africans students who incidentally are not even muslims.
We experienced so many strangers in all our masjids this Ramadan even during the fajr prayers ( 5.30 am)- It was obvious as some could not pray and were just asking questions about others.
And it could have been genuine interest in Islam as there were many new converts (reverts) to Islam but some were really suspicious- only God knows all.
I pray that Allah saves us from the evils of the revived Jim crow
