EASI Webcast: Update on Implimentation of Section 508 by Doug Wakefield of the Access Board: http://www.rit.edu/~easi Transcription available for the Deaf In the year plus since section 508 web accessibility standards went into effect, colleges, universities, schools, libraries as well as government agencies have been improving the accessibility of their web sites. Some have instead been looking for legal advice to help them avoid having to make changes. In both cases, this has been a hot topic of discussion over the past year. As a member of the Access Board, Doug Wakefield helped to draft the original standards and has been closely involved in helping organizations work to meet these standards. Doug acknowleges the gigantic job to impact all of the covered web sites. He finds many organizations working to comply.
