One thing is clear though, the idea that type A's can't digest meat is clearly out. It was switching to the blood type diet that convinced me that in fact, diet was very important to my well-being. This is because my well-being plummeted dramatically when I switched to the type A diet. Erik >> Well, me 4 or 5, or 5 zillion! Another blood type "A" chiming in here! I've written many times how my years of vegetarianism contributed to, or outright CAUSED my devastating illnesses, the worst of which was severe bipolar disorder, and how giving up grains totally cured my condition. I also have some evidence of Celiac Disease, and cannot imagine where I'd be, physically and mentally, if I'd stayed the course with a D'Adamo type "A" diet. I was also diagnosed with extremely severe GERD (excess stomach acid) which is NOT supposed to be the case with type "A"s. And sticking to a good Paleo diet with plenty of (mostly grass-fed) red meat, I have no trouble at all with this "supposed" disease! I believe the success of the D'Adamo diets, ALL of them, stem from the same simple solution: exclusion. By that I mean, if you take anyone eating some version of the SAD and put him on ANY diet, he will be cutting out all kinds of junk food, and that alone would account for much of the success. After all, which of D'Adamo's different diets includes sodas, donuts, potato chips, hot dogs, and fake sugars and fats? Maddy Mason Hudson Valley, NY
