<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Thank you all for your wonderful messages and support. I was surprised at the number of others who are asymptomatic as I am. As you can imagine list members response to the CD way can be widely varied. I found that most responders attempt to abstain from any item that may have gluten. Most indicated that it is improbable that they haven't consumed gluten unknowlingly from time to time. Some honestly admitted to eating products with known gluten either to see what reaction they would have or just because they wanted it on occasion. I thought it was interesting that some found that it took several days of consuming glutenous products to actually have some sort of reaction. Reactions also vary greatly from individual to individual from DH, excessive hunger, exhaustion and the more familiar problem s with diarrhea or constipation. I also found it interesting that although some knew they had consumed some gluten, follow-up tests showed improvement due to mostly restricting gluten (the obvious) and being less precise with "unknowns". I have decided to continue on as I have and attempt to avoid the obvious and not be overly concerned as to whether I have symptoms. Many suggested keeping a supply of gf foods available at times such as office parties/social gatherings and enjoying anything that is obviously gf especially if you can ask the individual who prepared it (or check packaging if it is available for the ingredient list). I thank you all for your responses; there were many and I welcomed each one. Janice *Support summarization of posts, reply to the SENDER not the CELIAC List*
