Thought I'd upgrade my GeForce2 to something a bit more swept up so installed a WinFast A170 DDR T Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 onto my Gigabyte 7VTXH+ mobo. CPU is an Athlon 1800+XP, ram 512Mb PC2100 DDR. The first card didn't put out any signal at all so I sent it back. The replacement card has just arrived and it's the same situation - nil, zip, de nada - no output, no beeps, no nuthin'. When I sent the first card back, I spoke briefly to the wholesaler's tech guy, who didn't know a whole lot about this card, but thought he'd seen something on the net about this GFX card not running with the Gigabyte 7VTXH+, and muttered about a single surface mounted resistor on the card which should be removed if the card is used in certain situations. There is such a resistor on the card. However, a search of the net revealed no relevant information on the subject. I can't contact the wholesaler today (Saturday), so I'm wondering if anyone here can shed any light on the matter. TIA Ian Porter Computer Guys Arrowtown New Zealand [log in to unmask] PS.
