<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hi! If you are considering purchasing a Kitchen Aid mixer, you may want to check out Costco. I found a heavy duty model in Kingston, Ontario for $374.00 (plus the enormous taxes out here in Ontario!). It has a 350 Watt motor and a 5 quart bowl. By comparison, the ultra power model (300 W motor, smaller bowl) is $389.00 - $400. Sears sells the same heavy duty model for $499.00!!! It's a fantastic deal if you can get one from Costco. My mother owns a 300 W machine and really wishes she had the 350 W one for making breads. She recommends getting the largest motor you can. In addition, you can get all sorts of accessories, including pasta makers, food grinders, juicers, etc. Check out their website at www.kitchenaid.com (or www.kitchenaid.ca). I emailed to ask if the pasta makers were tested on gluten free pastas (since I destroyed a Betty Crocker Pasta Maker already), but haven't heard back yet. Unfortunately, not all Costcos carry the same merchandise, but if you are in the market for a mixer, it would be worth the trip. Becky :) now in Kingston, Ontario waiting for 20 cm of snow (Happy Spring!) P.S. If there is anyone in the Kingston area who doesn't have a Costco card and would like to be "escorted", just let me know! *Support summarization of posts, reply to the SENDER not the CELIAC List*
