You are once again entirely correct (see previous email for more precise terminology). Remember the Mormons at 2 Lincoln Square?  Also held together by caulk (although their travertine was backed by precast slabs, some in-situ shards were held in place by caulk and birdshit.

If this place is subject to freeze-thaw, they gotta do something before the pick stone out of the head of one of the pissing old ladies. Or the humping dogs.
