Joe, Yus, Mr. Modou and Edi Sidibeh, Thank you all for adding your resounding opinions to the debate . It clearly sets a tone for all us to learn from each other, since I am not aware of the economic principles the Gambia will be applying towards this trade relations in view of this recent announcement. However, my comment was based on what I think might be most prudent considering the Gambia's inability to command a competitive edge in most of it's existing industries, BUT we must also be ready to apply anti- dumping policies. I think it is an opportunity for those who are experts in this field to offer some suggestions and enlighten where needed, so that we can continue to learn from one another. Again, JOE, YUS, Moe and Edi, my sincere appreciation for your input. By the way here is some interesting reading on absolute and comparative advantages on the web page below for those who want to gain some insight on the theories. http://internationalecon.com/v1.0/ch40/40c000.html Best Regards, Ablie Njie- Lekbi _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
