you are right kyle, they understand pain from the prospective of hurting for a while then getting better. they don't understand pain from the standpoint of hurting today, tomarrow, the next day and on and on with no end. they do not know what that does to a persom mentally either. what drives me crazy is these boobs that say they are going to spend a weekend in a wheelchair so they will know how it feels to be disabled, or they will spend a day or two with their eyes covered to understand blindness, ect, ect. the boobs don't have a clue. part of having a disability is dealling with the fact that you will still have it after the week end. these boobs know that after the weekend they are going to turn in the wheel chair to where ever they rented it, they are going to uncover their eyes, ect. they are just as clueless after their publicity stunt is over. -----Original Message----- From: Cleveland, Kyle E. You would not beleive some of the crap I hear from well-meaning family and friends. I've been called everything from spiritually bankrupt to a drug-addict. None of the naysayers has ever dealt with pain lasting more than a week. They can sometimes understand the idea of palliative care in terminally-ill cancer patients, but that's about the extent of their understanding. Did you check out the website he suggested? www.asappain.com? Moms have a special way of pushing buttons. This seems to be a universal condition. I'm sorry about your pain, and the fact that your Mom isn't understanding about it. Betty
