Thank you everyone for you helpful information.  I had intensive P/T as a child then
I was fairly active up to age 30.  In the last 10+ years I have noticed a definite
decline in function and each time I said to my Doctor the answer would be "you are O.K.".
It was not until 3 years ago & after Major Surgery that I found that even when standing in a queue at the Supermarket I found by balance dreadful & I was weak in the legs.
6 weeks at home post op meant that I wasn't even getting the walking in that I do at work.  So back to the Dr then to a Neurologist then to a Rehab Consultant then had 6 weeks Outpatient treatment (gym & Hydro) at age 40 years.  I overcame that hurdle and now have to keep up the exercise.
I have learnt to pace myself as I'm  sure others do to get our rest, keep up our strength if possible and not overdo it.
Interestingly, my Dr said just 2 mths ago that the hip & other muscle pain that I now experience are probably due to muscle  spasms that I have always had but muscles
weaken with age so if I can sometimes end up with aching legs.

For the younger C.P.'s this mightn't br the same for you - I have only learnt this in the last 2 years.  C.P. doesn't deteriorate, it seems to be due to the secondary conditions.

Carrie.
