I have been unable to get my AOL DSL connection up and running. -Windows XP -AOL 7.0 -Efficient Networks SpeedStream 4080 USB modem with XP drivers. AOL, Efficient Networks, and Verizon are all basically blaming each other for the problem, and I've tried everything they've suggested to no avail. Is it true that Verizon (New England)'s servers are not yet capable of dealing with Windows XP PPOE software? Might an ethernet card and ethernet modem solve my problem, since its my understanding that it wouldn't need drivers or PPOE? Possible clue: I was able to connect (briefly, and then lost it) after setting the AOL software Properties>Compatability to Windows 98 compatability. This resulted in "DUN/RAS" files being installed, but I'm not sure what this means. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please email them to me if possible. Thanks!
