The event will be moderated by Queen McLeod, Director, Armour J. Blackburn Center, and will feature two keynote speakers, namely: Professor George Ayittey, President, The Free Africa Foundation, who will speak on "The Role of Education in Promoting Democracy in Africa"; and Professor Sulayman Nyang, African Studies Department, Howard University, who will speak on "Democracy and Islam: What is the Relationship?" The reception will be held at the Armour J. Blackburn Center, Howard University, 2400 6th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. Attendance is free, but tax-deductible donations will be greatly appreciated and will go towards ADA's African Student Scholarship Fund. This Fund is dedicated to sponsoring African youth whose families cannot meet the expense of primary and secondary education.
