Several months ago I posted that I was supplementing with fish oil and
eating LOTS of fish including oily fish like sardines plus ground
flaxseeds. After the first several months, my total cholesteral dropped
nearly 70 points and nearly all of the drop was in the LDL. However, I
just had my cholesteral re-tested after following the regime for 4 more
months and was disappointed to find that my total cholesteral had RISEN
back up nearly 30 points, my LDL UP 27 points! Can overdoing the omega-3
oils cause this? Also, my tsh rose to 2.35 from 1.32 which indicates that
my thyroid function is slowing down. I am truly amazed. FYI -- I did not
cheat at all during this time -- not even a drop of dairy whatsoever. Any
thoughts or advice?
