<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I hope to get some help here from people who have been through similiar situations, well here it goes: My son Taylor was very ill from birth..... they told me he was lactose intolerant therefor he was taken off milk products, no breastfeeding. At the age of two i was still concerned for the fact that he had chronic diareah. I took him to our asthma doctor who was also a allergist and he told me after doing testing that my son was allergic to wheat. My son was then put on a wheat free diet. We were military then and moved to Kansas. When we got to Kansas i noticed that his symptoms were improving but not completely. I went and spoke to a dietician there and they told me to have my son checked for celiacs disease. At first i had a heart attack.... i couldnt beleive it. Well we drove to Kansas City after a year of begging the doctor to test my son for celiacs. A biopsy was performed, and it confirmed he had celiacs disease. The doctor would not diagnose him, although he had the proof that he has celiacs disease. although he did write in his medical records that my son is in fact celiac. My son is now almost 7 and still to this day has not officially been diagnosed with celiacs disease. We will finally be able to see a GI specialist in Sepetember after waiting almost 2 1/2 years to get a referral. The other problem is that i now also have a 22 month old daughter who is exhibiting some of the same symptoms as my son did but yet even with my son being celiac, the doctors refuse to test her for it and i dont know what to do. They have given her upper GI and other test including spinal taps, but will not test her for celiacs. IF anyone can help me with what to do, i would greatly appreciate it. I am looking for any type of support groups in Las Vegas, NV or any good doctors that could help me. I was told to go to baltimore, MD, but i cannot afford to go. Thank you very much in advance. Also if anyone has a boy around my sons age that would be will ing to be a pen-pal, i think he would enjoy that very much. he will be 7 in december. Tiffanie
