Thanks to everyone who's responded to my question. The thing is, though,
that I did redownload the file in question two or three times and still had
the same problem. I also do not use speech, so I know it's not a problem
with my sound card not allowing two sounds to play at once. I just
installed Winamp v2.76, hoping that that would do something, but clearly,
it hasn't. I did ctrl-p to access the menus and tried selecting .mp3 as a
file type, but I guess this still isn't doing the trick. Can I use
Realplayer to play .mp3's? I never seem to have any trouble with
Realplayer. But Winamp is what was opened when I went to play that file.

Thanks again to all who took the time to respond. Does anyone have any
other suggestions?
Rachel
