Do you run your computer for long periods without restarting or shutting
down? We've had  a similar problem with the mouse cursor freezing for
five or ten seconds at a time - usually during a menu selection, etc.
Restarting the computer seems to stop it for a few hours. I've hard the
real problem may be memory, resources, overheating, etc, but all I know
is that restarting the computer clears it up.
