<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hi.. I am looking up the gf status of claritin reditabs. Mannitol is listed as one of the ingredients. Through web-surfing I come up with d-mannose and d-fructose as ingredients used in making mannitol. I found this website : http://www.rpi.edu/dept/chem-eng/Biotech-Environ/IMMOB/poppezz/hfcs.html which lists possible nitrogen sources for glucose, which include malt extract and distillers solubles (that one sounds scary), and that fructose is derived from glucose! I thought fructose was a fruit sugar! Fructose is listed as gf on several sites. Does anyone have any ideas? How are the gf lists derived? Do we need the services of a molecular chemist to decide what we can eat? thanks, Jody Mattison-German
