I believe the following will stop your clicking (in WIN98 anyway) . . .

o Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel
o Click on Sounds
o Select Windows Explorer (I know, it doesn't say IE but I think it does it
in IE from this setting as well)
o Select "Start Navigation"
o Change the wav file in the "Name:" box to (none) from its default setting
of "Start.wav"
