When I boot my machine for the first time, it gives a long bleep and does not recognize the card, on reboot it works fine. I browsed the motherboard manual, but this didn't help, and there are no jumpers on the voodoo card to change. > > The Board is a Biostar M7MKE. > > The PCI slot nearest the AGP slot is currently empty. Is it true that I need to > fill that slot with a card(not Display Card) otherwise my system will continue > to check for a PCI Adapter every time I boot first time? Never heard of this. Plus, I never put any card in first PCI, just leave some space so that AGP card won't overheat. Apart from what Mary suggested, you may also try clear COMS, I remember that with ASUS CUSL2 mobo, if you boot with AGP/PCI card first, you may not be able to boot from the onboard VGA even you changed the BIOS setting, unless you clear COMS (the jumper is hidden).
