Palm Beach County, Florida was the only county in Florida to produce all
of its ballots in large print.  The large print design and 10 presidential
candidates on the ballot led to the butterfly design, as all of the
candidates could not fit on the same page.  Whatever happened to
magnifiers?  Although election officals in Florida had good intentions,
when end users, particularly end users with disabilities, are not brought
into the design process to determine usability, the results can be quite
tragic.  An article in the online magazine Salon explores this issue
